You Can Learn Guitar Without Reading Music

Many people think about learning how to play an instrument. Some actually take the dive and try to learn. However, when they face the challenge of learning to sight read music, they give up because it is too difficult to grasp the concepts behind all of those abstract symbols. Luckily, it is possible to learn guitar without reading music and the same is true for many other instruments.

Songwriting Guideline Number One

I fought against rules most of my life, and have had many run-ins with established conventions and regulations, and as a creative songwriter I know that you are probably not so big on rules yourself. I generally like to think more in terms of flexible Guidelines and Suggestions. But this is one that I would commit to memory as a Rule.
