It was a erratic day of trading on Tuesday as markets grappled with the repercussions involving extending U.S. tax cuts for two years. The moves will energize the U.S. overall economy and global consumption but stifle attempts to bring the deficit to supportable amounts. The U.S. dollar in the beginning sold off however eventually rallied and the bond market was routed.

Many are going into Canadian mutual funds these days. The concept of the mutual fund is basically the same all over the world. The fund consists of many investors. Investor money is pooled and invested by a single funds manager. Investor money is put into stocks and other similar financial securities.

Stocks and securities are traded through an entity called as stock exchange market. Using a stock exchange market is the method in which shareholders or companies issue and redeem securities, pay dividends or income or deal with other financial securities. There are various types of securities traded on a stock exchange market, such as commodities, pooled investment products (banks – mutual funds or retirement holdings), stocks, and company issued shares.
